May 22nd-28th

J
D
(5/22) Work day for me while the little boys were with Kathy.  We made dinner real quick and then ran out to get C fitted for hockey gear, which turned out to be an exercise in frustration (for me).  J kicked D's seat in the stroller until I gave him a blanket and then it was lights' out time for J.

Tripod sitting...and check out those teeth!
There was a gal there waiting to get her daughter fitted for gear, and she kept trying to talk to J.  Normally he is the smiliest, happy baby, but tonight he was just staring.  She asked if he was the quiet one.  LOL, hardly!  He must've been tired because the next time I looked over, he had his blanket and was *out.*

(5/23) The boys woke up all smiley this morning.  There is nothing cuter than happy babies :)  We had a busy day today, starting out with soccer for C.  It was raining, so I bundled up the boys and by the time I had driven out to the field, J had pulled the hood over his eyes and was zonked out.  I decided to just leave them in the van and keep an ear out.  They slept through the entire thing.  Then off to the grocery store, and home to get dinner ready to cook during preschool.  The bitty boys had their time with Nanan, and then we spent a nice evening hanging out.

(5/24) I came home to happy men tonight.  They are so fun to play with!

I definitely think it's time to pull out another crib.  When I put D down tonight, he rolled over into the middle of the co-sleeper and proceeded to growl at me the entire time I was nursing J.  It was hard not to laugh.

(5/25) Last night was b.r.u.t.a.l.  D was on sleep-strike.  It didn't matter what I did / where I put him / etc.  Ugh.  He screamed, he giggled, he growled.  Oy.  Pass me another cup.

But in other news, I die of cute!  They are ready for the sun! They got to go to the park today with Kathy and the boys.  Fun!

I assembled the crib tonight and everything went well!  J slept in the crib until 2a? and D in the co-sleeper, until probably about midnight.  Pretty much the norm.

(5/26) A mix today.  We saw C off to the movies for his very first time in the theater (Bridger's birthday party). And then I came home with two very tired boys.  I put them down for naps and then went outside with my book to soak up some sun.  Tonight we are off to gather as a family to remember Great Grandpa John, who passed away yesterday.

(5/27)  Lovely day beginning with coffee with some of my favorite running buddies:Tory, Cathy & Dana!  Then home to lunch with the fam, two hours of uninterrupted sleep (bliss!), and a quiet evening in.  Can't beat that!

(5/28) Memorial Day ~ home with the fam today.  The twins made sure I was up early to enjoy it.  I really could have enjoyed it starting at 8a, rather than 5a though. Zzz.

Hope you and yours enjoy!

May 15th-21st

J's in yellow this week (L); D's in green
(5/15)  Hehehe ~ I was reading a book to J and he kept closing it and making the 'all done' noise.

Boys had a good day.  I came home early because Kathy needed to leave, and got to spend a sunny afternoon hanging out with them.

Dad made the boys some apple sauce and pear sauce yesterday.  J loves it, but D just gags.  Guess the fruit bat isn't ready for new textures yet.

(5/16) Tooth number 4 for J popped through today!  He has 2 tops and 2 bottoms now.

Today was lovely!  Once again, I had no commitments so was able to catch up on laundry (diapers), do some cleaning, read my book, and spend hours playing with the little guys. Bliss!

(5/17)  Little stinker J did not want to sleep last night. When I went up to feed D, he woke up too, which isn't usual. He would look at me, half-smile, then lay his head down and sob into the bed and then repeat. It was hard not to laugh at him being so dramatic. He woke up a number of times after that and flailed about instead of just letting us resettle him. And he kept reaching for and banging on D, waking him up too. Argh!

Today is their day with their dad.  I'm sure he'll get them to take great naps to make up for last night's antics.

Dad says J might have a 5th tooth coming in?  Yikes!

Dad says the baby trap he set was effective ;)
(5/18) I can see what looks like the very tip of J's 5th tooth.  D better hurry up, he's stuck at 2.

The boys had a good day with Kathy.  They ate a lot and took good naps.  They're so easy at this age.

(5/19) Hooray!!! C is home!  I left early to run and then had to clean C's preschool as part of our co-op duties.  Nanan was here watching the little guys until Dad brought C.  She makes me laugh ~ she said she fed the babies some "gross squash" and that it didn't taste very good.  Wonder why she was eating it?

(5/20) J was so distracted with C being back that he kept smiling at him all throughout breakfast.  He normally is a very serious eater, so this was pretty funny.

We had a pretty uneventful day.  Didn't have to go anywhere or do a whole lot.  My kind of weekend!

(5/21) Monday, Monday... la-lah-la-lah-la.  Boys are with their Dad today and C is in preschool.   Back to routine.

Seven months

D left; J right
(5/8) We got to Skype with Colton last night, and Denton waved to him.  It was so cute!  And Jensen busted out a big smile as soon as he heard Colton's voice.  We sure do miss big C around here!

The boys slept much better last night, after a fussy-ish day yesterday.  It looks like both of them have top teeth coming in - you can see the whole outline of the two in the top front.

The little boys are at Sarah's today since Kathy isn't feeling well.  Hope she feels better soon!  Sarah reports they had a good day.  Slept a lot and ate a lot.  Sounds like it :)

(5/9)  J has a new top tooth!  The other one looks like it's going to be next.  Tooth count:  D has two bottoms and J has a top & a bottom.

I certainly lucked out today.  No soccer today AND no preschool due to conferences.  I have to go in for C's conference, but that's it.  Score!  It was so nice to have the day to hang out with the little guys.  They even let me sleep in!

(5/10) Rut-roh... Little boys were were squawking early today.  Poor Dad.  I do hope they went back to sleep.  Today is my long work day, and the twins' day with their dad.  Hope they have a fun one!

(5/11) Seven months.  Seriously?  Seven months?  Wow.  Is time flying for anybody else, or is it just me?

Kathy said she stuffed the boys today and that they slept a lot.  Color me jealous :)

(5/12)  Jensen's second top tooth has come through.  Tooth count: 2 top & 1 bottom for J and 2 bottom for D.  He treated us to a long stretch of sleep last night, so I'm guessing it was a relief to finally have it pop through.

We had a busy day today.  We went to Ben's 3rd birthday party and got to meet new baby brother Carter.  He was 3 lbs heavier than the twins at birth, and I cannot remember them ever being so small!  Such a cute lil' peanut :)

We then stopped to give some Mother's Day love to Grandma and then finally made it back home where we'll be treating Nanan to dinner.

(5/13) Happy Mother's Day!  So I did the motherly thing and left the boys home with Dad while I went running.  What?  It's a beautiful day and what a great way to start it.

We were up early anyway.  At about 2am, the boys were *wide* awake.  I'm not telling Dad, but I'm wondering if that cup of coffee I had at 10pm last night had anything to do with it....oops.

When I feed the boys and we're getting close to the end of whatever they're eating, I start saying "all done?" and J has been parroting back the sound - not actually forming the words, but making this sing-song "all done" sounding grunt.  Pretty cool!

I have pulled him (J) out of more things this week.  He seems to inch or roll toward things he probably shouldn't be in (like Colton's games, or my boots, etc).  Better get rollin' on baby-proofing, I'm thinking!

(5/14) And Monday again.  Weeee!  Twins are with their dad and I'm back at work.

Enjoy!

May 1st-7th

D left; J right
(5/1) Happy May Day!

Sniff, sniff, I put all the 6 month clothing away today and pulled out the 9 month. It's amazing how 9 month clothing makes them look like little boys instead of so babyish. And the stuff *fits* ~ I thought it'd be big on them, but no, not so much. Big boys...

They must be in the middle of a growth spurt. They're eating us out of house and home already. They went through all the milk I had left, the few extras in the freezer plus had solids. Goodness!

(5/2) Busy day once again! Soccer (for C) was apparently exhausting. D fell asleep as soon as I packed him back in the car, stayed asleep when I stopped at the grocery store (got him out & put him back in) AND kept sleeping right through a diaper change at home before I laid him down for the rest of his nap. He stayed asleep until about 2:15p, a good two hours after Nanan had arrived.

(5/3) The twins spent the day with Dad today while I worked. I have been running on fumes lately, so bailed on Zumba and took the opportunity to have a quiet evening at home with my guys. C is off at Nanan's house tonight, getting some last minute Nanan time before he is off on his adventure with Oma & Opa.

(5/4) The little boys are at Sarah's today and the big boy will return from an overnight with Nanan this evening. The twins did great - they took long naps and Sarah even managed to get all the babies sleeping at once.  Woot!  But then they all woke up wanting food at the same time too.  Can't win.

We stayed for a lovely dinner and came home totally tuckered out and ready for bed.

(5/5) We said bon voyage to C today. He will be travelling with Oma & Opa this month to visit family. I already miss him.

I wish I had gotten this on video, but Dad said, "But we still have two left!" and J cackled.  LOL

(5/6)  Quiet day today.  The boys stayed home with Dad during the morning while I was out running and then Nanan came to watch them while we went to Justin & Lisa's house-warming.  It was such a beautiful day today - can't wait for more like it!

Both boys are waving their hands now.  It's so cute!  I'm trying to remember to use some basic signs with them now and their hand waving is a perfect "yes."  Both boys are starting to scoot too. I put them down in one place and they end up about 4-5' away.  Neither is crawling yet, but it's just a matter of time.

Dad noticed that both of J's top teeth are just below the gum surface, due to come in any time now.  Yeep!

(5/7)  Oy.  Rough night. Can't wait til lunch naptime!

Little boys are with their dad today while I'm at work. Hope they have a good day!
