June 19th-25th

J front; D back
(6/19) D has a third tooth!  His top one that I thought for sure was going to pop through weeks ago has finally come all the way through.  Looks like the other one will be here shortly.  J's at 4 teeth (2 top; 2 bottom).

The boys had a happy day and were very fun tonight.  I steamed up some cauliflower and they ate quite a bit!

(6/20) J is turning out to be an early bird.  I got up and went for a run the same time I normally leave for work and was so hoping for an extra hour or so of sleep when I got home.  No dice.  I got home and Dad delivered me a very awake J.  Oh well, I can sleep when they're teenagers, right?

It's a rare sunny (& warm!) day, so we're off to the beach! (Brackett's Landing in Edmonds) Nanan went along with, so I was able to go check out the tide pools with C while she wrangled babies.

C left for an overnight with Nana this evening and the twins were so worn out from their day that they went to bed early.  It sure was quiet.

(6/21) The twins got to go to gymnastics (for C). Dad kept sending me pictures of passed out babies, so I could see how they enjoyed it.  LOL!  Then they went to the park and to McDonald's. Busy day for bebes.

Smiley J
(6/22) TGIF!  Kathy said D was a big ol' grump this morning until he took a 4 hour nap.  I guess somebody was tired.  The babies got to go to the bouncy house with the big boys today.  It was raining, of course, so the fun plans to go to Country Village with the preschool group were derailed.

(6/23) Fun day today!  We drove down to Puyallup for a barbecue at Charity's house.  They are leaving for Vegas next week, so we had to get the Coltons together one more time.  The boys did great in the car and played the whole time we were there, until D passed out.

(6/24) Up and at 'em early today.  Gee thanks, boys!  I made the twinsies pancakes and C helped me take pictures.  We were going to go and see the big boys set off rockets, but the little boys were tiiiiired, so I stayed home and let them sleep.  They even zonked out early at bedtime.  I laid them down and they were out before I left the room.

(6/25)  Happy Monday!  The boys are with their dad today.  Hope they have a fun day!

June 12th-18th

(6/12) Kathy said the boys were totally in sync today, sleeping/eating/playing-wise.  They got to try some watermelon today - yum!

(6/13) C had a dentist appointment this morning, so I piled the kids in the car and headed out.  I didn't realize that we left the slings at home (oops), so just carried the babies up, one in each arm.  The receptionist said she felt so bad and came and stole D from me.  He got to work up front, and chew on a highlighter while J ate all the puffs I had with me during C's appt.  They zonked out on the way home, and were fortunately just waking up when we arrived at the pet store.  After we got home, we had lunch, played for a bit, and then the twinsies went down for a nap.  Sarah, Jordan, & Jamie came over to play for a bit, but the twins missed out. J ended up waking from his epic nap™ early because C was driving monster trucks outside the door.  The boys ate a lot of watermelon today, and got to try some kidney beans from our dinner. Yeah, I know, yummy combo.

J is getting faster and faster each day and can really motor around.  D is just now getting up on all fours and rocking.  The crawl is coming!

(6/14) Work day for me, and day with Dad for the twins.  D has had a change of heart where avocado is concerned and is now wolfing down chunks of it!  Yay!  He's doing much, much better with solid foods and is really getting good at picking pieces up and eating them.

Since it was sunny this evening, C & I went for a bike ride/walk and we came home to starving bebes, even though they had just eaten an hour earlier.  Must be growing.

(6/15) Sarah watched the kiddos today while we worked.  Jamie (6 mos older) and J played and played, with Jamie taking all the toys that J touched and J idolizing and following him everywhere.  He even came home sticking his tongue out like Jamie.  LOL!

This is what trouble looks like!
(6/16) Today Nanan watched the boys while I went running in the morning, and then to Aly's 18th birthday party / high school graduation.

(6/17) Happy Father's Day! Today, J let us sleep until almost 7:45a - yay.  I got all the boys up and then went down to make breakfast for Dad.   We had orange rolls. Mmm!  We had a lazy day in because it was pretty yucky out.

We headed over to my dad's house for dinner in the evening.  We had a lovely time!  The little boys annihilated a sweet potato on their own tonight.  I'm so glad I have to work tomorrow and am not on diaper duty!

(6/18) Happy Monday!

8 months

D left; J right
(6/5) J was up and at 'em really early today (6a), and Kathy said the little guys alternated with their nap/awake times all day.  It was a real struggle to keep J up til bedtime (I'm *hoping* this will encourage him to sleep in).

I've noticed J is working real hard to get his knees underneath him.  He leans over, grabs his pant leg and pulls it.  Like he just can't quite get that leg to do what it's supposed to!  D has been busy doing baby yoga.  When I put him down, he goes into a plank on his toes.  He gets really excited about crawling, but doesn't make much forward progress.  He usually ends up going backward instead.

(6/6) Finally caught up on some sleep!  It was at the expense of my morning run, but whatever. Never mind that it's National Running Day.  I'll catch up on some miles later.

Once we all got up, we breakfasted quickly, then headed out for soccer. After soccer, we came home to play until nap time.  Bridger came over this afternoon, and we watched Star Wars.  D yelled through most of the movie (not crying, but yelling/squealing and grinning like a fool).  He eventually got tired, and I put him down. He had taken a morning nap after soccer, so he wasn't ready right after lunch like J.  Both boys took nice, long naps today.

After dinner, we took a family field trip to the park.  C rode his bike and I pushed the boys in the double stroller.

(6/7) Oy, another brutal night of sleep.  J didn't want to go back down, then D didn't, and then repeat.  I finally ended up leaving the room for a few hours of sleep.

D's top teeth look like they're about ready to come through and that 5th tooth of J's is making another attempt.  Poor boys.  That must hurt.

(6/8) Twins had a good day today.  Kathy said they slept a lot.  She said D was pretty upset earlier, and I think it's those teeth. I saw the points one day and now they've gone back up.  Ugh!

J tried broccoli trees tonight and did really well with it! D predictably gagged.  It's green, after all.

(6/9) Nanan came today while I was off at a running event.  Came home to two happy boys! We had lunch together and then I put them down and headed out to do yard work: my favorite.  Got the lawn mowed and the garden weeded before J woke up.  It's a start!

We had a nice evening together.  J is really getting good at his army crawl.  I'm thinking we'll be pulling out the gate here soon.

(6/10) Dad took an extra shift today and had to go in, so we didn't get to see much of him today, but he watched the boys while I had a running date followed by a coffee date. Then I came home and Dad went and bought out the grocery store shopping this morning. Yay, food! The boys lasted until lunchtime and then crashed hard. Gotta love epic naps!

The twins tried asparagus tonight.  I threw a few Cheerios down too, and D mainly ate those, but I did see a bit of green go in.  One day the fruit bat will eat veggies, one day!

(6/11) Eight months!  I know I say this every month, but time can slow down already!

Today is the twins' day with their dad.  Hope they have a fun one!

They look guilty of something here.  LOL
