July 24th-30th

(7/24) The little boys and I had a nice day today. J pulled himself onto his knees this evening and then got into a sit. Hooray! D is really cruising well now, and babbling up a storm. I'll have to get some video of his latest conversations!

(7/25) Nanan visited today and we took all the boys swimming. It is finally sunny here in the PNW, and we got to go out into the wading pool outside at Forest Park. It was perfect weather for it! Unfortunately, open swim begins at 1:30p, which is right during primo nap time. J didn't make it through dinner tonight. Too bad my phone didn't pick up the snoring very well.

(7/26) The boys got to come visit me at work today! C had a dentist appointment and all our sitters were unavailable, so they got to hang with Mom for a little bit. They're such mellow kids. After they got passed around and loved on, I parked them in the stroller at my desk and doled out Cheerios between researching properties. They haven't been at the office with me since they were 2 weeks old. We were well overdue for a visit!

Speaking of dentists, J has *8* teeth now.  4 top & 4 bottom.  Crazy!

(7/27) Work day for us and the little guys are with Kathy.  She said D was really chatty today.  I love that!

(7/28) The littles got to hang out with Nanan today while their mother was running around (I ran the Arts Dash Half this morning).  I was going to be productive this afternoon, but discovered the couch needed to be held down during the boys' nap instead. We've had a nice evening.  The boys are very in to crawling all over each other and sharing/taking toys that the other has.

(7/29) Today is our 11th anniversary.  Nanan watched the boys this afternoon so we could escape for a date night!  We went wine tasting, then out to dinner, and had a very nice time.

Mr. J has figured out how to stand.  I looked over and he was casually standing with an arm over the brace of the easel.  He looked over at me, and took a step, and then went splat.  He spent the rest of the afternoon climbing everything.

And D refers to me as "Momomomom."  Aww!

(7/30)  Zzz.  Dear D, 4am is for sleeping, not for raspberries, kicking, wiggling or other such nonsense.  It's a good thing you're cute.

July 17th-23rd

(7/17) Oh, cute!  D has started to babble and say something that sounds like "Mamama-baabaa-Mama."

(7/18)  The monkeys had their 9 month appointment today.  D: 29.5” (90%), 17.6lbs (12%), HC=46cm (75%); J: 29” (75%), 17.6lbs (12%), HC=46cm (75%).   I'm shocked that they weigh the same.  That half inch extra that D has makes me think he should weigh more. That, and J can *eat*.

I had J sitting in the chair next to C while I was bouncing a fussing D, and he took one look at the iPod that C was holding, and he was clambering over the arm of the chair after it. Likewise, when he is on the floor and D has something that he wants, he climbs right over him to take it. Lil stinker!

(7/19)  Work day for me. Dad hauled all the kiddos to the park, and then watched the littles while I snuck out for an evening yoga class.  I didn't see them much during the day, but saw them a lot at night. *yawn*

(7/20)  TGIF! The twins are teething something fierce.  They are both so close to having 6 teeth (4 on the top for D & 4 on the bottom for J).  This has been a looooong week with little sleep for us.  There have been a few times that I've spent my lunch break in the car trying to catch up on some z's.

J has started making a funny fish face. Every time I got the camera out though, he turns away.  Sigh.  I also came home to C saying that J could stand by himself for a few seconds.  Eep!  I'm not ready for that!

(7/21)  Oy.  What a night.  I saw every hour on the clock, and woke for the last time to J climbing out of the co-sleeper up onto the bed.  Time to set up the second crib!  I turned in my freebie coffee this morning and requested the biggest, strongest vat of coffee they had.

What started as a gloomy day sure turned out gorgeous!  C had swim lessons in the morning and then we met at the park for couple of his friends' combined birthday party.  It was hot out, and J got to try a juice box, which he slurped right down and now every time he sees a bottled drink, he is frantic to have a taste.

Phhhttthhhpp!   (D)
(7/22) We have such nice friends.  Rob, Jay, D & Marc came out to help do some demo on the downstairs, removing the cabinetry and sink down there so we can convert it to a bedroom, which means we are a few steps closer to sleep!  We introduced D & J to the other D(iane) and Jay (aka Uncle Spanky).  The last time we saw D, we were at a hockey game and she was teasing that we'd soon be paying for extra seats.

Best shot of J's fish face I could get...
Mmm, peas and watermelon
(7/23) And Monday again.  Man, these weeks just fly right by. Dad has the little boys today and C has hockey tonight.

9 months

(7/10) Text from Kathy: This is what the babies each just ate: 1/2 a banana, 1/4 of an avocado, 1/2 thick slice of blueberry bread, 1/2 oz turkey, 1/4 cup Cheerios, and a 1/2 peach!  We're in big trouble when they hit their teens.

(7/11)  Snuck out for a nice run this mornng.  Unfortunately, the boys woke up about ten minutes after I left and were wide awake when I returned and were ready for breakfast.  After breakfast, we piled in the car and headed to the doctor for the twins' 9 month appointment, only to be met at the door by the nurses saying that the doctor was on vacation today.  Wha?  It looked like nobody on the list of appointments for the day got the notice.  We're rescheduled for next week.  Since the twins didn't get shots, we were able to join the preschool group for a playdate at Paine Field Park!  So nice to get some time in the sun!  The boys did some serious napping in the afternoon... I'm talking a 4+ hour nap!  They still wanted to go down at regular time too.

(7/12) Dear J, those last few minutes before the alarm goes off are my favorite.  Please wait until the alarm before waking.  Kthxbai.

I fed J before I got ready to go, and then D started up just as I was leaving.  Poor Dad was up *early*.  The boys took nice naps for him though, and I even put J down for a power nap to make sure he made it to 9pm in hopes that he will sleep in tomorrow.

(7/13)  Oy.  And I thought 5:30am was early for J to be awake... this morning it was 4am.  Dad says if one more person asks him if the boys sleep today, he'll snap.

J had a low-grade fever all day today.  Kathy said both boys slept a lot and that J was especially cuddly.  I can tell he's not feeling himself... D out-ate him at dinner tonight.

(7/14) Another rough night of sleep.  I ended up giving D some ibuprofen because he was inconsolable at 3am.  Poor Dad was coming off a 12 hr day and had to work today, so he ended up leaving.  Thankfully, they did finally both knock off and didn't wake 'til the more respectable hour of 7:30.

D has a new top tooth and J has 3 buds (one top, two bottom).  Explains the rough nights!

The itty bitty swim committee came with me to C's lesson this morning.  D sat the entire time (yay!!) and periodically would reach over and pull J's hair.  LOL!  J stood on my lap and grinned at the ladies in the hot tub and had a great time.  They both took 4+ hour naps today.  I sure am hoping for some decent sleep tonight!

J greeted me today with "Dada!" when I came into the room.  And has called me 'Dada' all evening.  So cute when they start figuring out words.

(7/15)  We took C to the Day Out With Thomas today.  The boys did really well - D was fascinated with the trains and wanted to touch them as we walked between them, and then watched out the window until he couldn't keep his eyes open any more.

Looks like D got two new top teeth... so he's got 4 on top & 2 on the bottom.  Last night was a relatively good night of sleeping, yet they were still up 3 times each.  No wonder we're walking zombies.

(7/16) Happy Monday!
