August 21st-27th

(8/21)  D cracks me up.  He has this fake cry and will come toward you fussing for a minute, then stop to suck his thumb.  I'll have to see if I can get it on video.

Kathy & I think J is working on getting *more* teeth.  He already has 8!  The boys had a pretty good day, but J is gnawing and drooling on everything!


(8/22) Busy day today. I made the boys blueberry pancakes this morning and stuffed 'em full before heading out to soccer.  After soccer, we ran to the library to pick up our books & videos on hold.  Then home for nap.  J was so tired that he fell asleep in the time it took me to bring D upstairs from the van and go back to get him. They took a decent nap, but C rudely interrupted it by going through the closet in their room (??!) and woke them early.

I discovered tonight that J is not a fan of lime sherbet.  He was fussing at me because I had something that he didn't, so I offered him a taste.  He got this horrified look on his face and cried louder. 

(8/23) Work day for me and Dad had the kiddos.  Nanan came to watch the kids this evening so we could go to a comedy show at Laughs.  Nanan said everything went great and kiddos were all tucked in when we got home.  Thanks, Nanan!


(8/24) Sarah had the kiddos today while Dad and I worked.  Sarah said they had a good day - they played, ventured out to Sbux, and then I joined them for dinner where they ate and ate and ate.  I turned my back at one point during dinner and D was splashing away in the water from his overturned cup.  Sigh. 


(8/25)  Nice day today! I got done with my run about the time that Dad had the littles in their high chairs.  We had breakfast together and then played for a while before heading out to the park for a coaches meeting.  The boys were about ready for a lunch and a nap, so were a little grumpy until we picked them up. Dana had J table dancing for our entertainment.


(8/26) C and I went hiking with Sarah & co today and the little guys got to hang with Dad.  It was nice to spend some time with the big boy, but I do wish I had 2 hiking packs.  Next year, we'll be chasing after them.


(8/27)  Happy Monday!  Kiddos are with their dad today and I am at work. 

August 14th-20th

(8/14)  Work day for Dad & me, and Sarah had the kiddos.  I think the twins are trying to drop down to just one nap, and they were all kinds of cranky today.  And hungry.  Apparently, I did not pack enough food as they blew through everything I sent, and when it came time for dinner, I could not feed them fast enough. 


(8/15) Granddad asked if I took the twins to restaurants.  I said not usually, but it should be just fine.  We met up with Granddad, Grandma, Uncle Jake, Amber, & Audrey at a Mexican restaurant.  The boys did awesome!  They ate, and ate, and ate!  They had everyone's rice, all my beans, chips, avocado, and made the biggest mess. They were happy for our marathon dinner (~2 hours) and we even received a lovely compliment for having the best behaved kids.


(8/16) The twinsies had their day with their dad and got to visit with Oma & Opa as they were passing through. I love that all the grands are fairly close and can visit from time to time!


(8/17)  Nanan watched the little guys today while we worked. C is off camping with Sarah and co for the weekend. I made veggie pasta tonight, and the twins wore more pasta than they ate, but they really worked hard at eating it! 


(8/18) Nanan stayed over last night so she could watch the twins while I was off running and then lunching with running buddies. The twins were cranky this afternoon, so I put everyone to bed (including myself) for an hour and then life was much better.


(8/19) Wow!  I did not hear a peep from the twins until almost 8am!  Dad made us pancakes this morning (yum!) and then we headed off to grocery shop.  We took the littles to the pet store where they got to look at the birdies and help us pick out some new fish and aquatic plants.  Our fish tank badly needed to be re-stocked! Then home for lunch and a nap. Such a rough life.

I packed up all the 9 month clothes today.  Didn't I just take them out? 
 

(8/20) Happy Monday!  Work day for me and the kiddos are with their dad. 

I had helpers on my workout tonight.  D busted up laughing every time I did a crunch in his direction and J kept climbing on me ~ to add extra resistance, I'm sure.  They certainly are a welcome distraction.

Ten months

(8/7)  I am so not used to seeing a standing J everywhere I look.  He is getting fast, and tries to pull up on everything.  He cracked me up when I went up to feed them this morning.  He was sitting in his crib, running his pacifier along the crib rails.  I may have to give him a tin cup and get a video.


(8/8)  Walking is apparently exhausting.  We met up with Sarah & Co after soccer today and walked to Starbucks and the park.  J was so tired that he fell asleep on the walk, slept through me putting him in the car, driving home, taking him out of the car and transferring him to his crib.  Both boys slept the afternoon away while I worked on painting the downstairs.  


(8/9)  The kiddos had a lazy day with Dad.  They took two long naps, and were totally done not long after I got home.  I finished touching up the walls tonight and am thrilled with our new space!

Eating is hard.

Walking is exhausting.

(8/10) Work day for Dad & me, and Sarah had the little guys. They got to go to the park, but were very tired, so they went back home. Sarah reported good naps and happy kiddos. We played when we got home, and then it was bedtime.


(8/11) Double digits.  Ten months today.  Wow.

And WHOA! It's a record! D slept 8p-7:30a. Hallelujah!!! J woke at midnight, but then also slept through. There is hope!  D also stood up today - well, mostly.  (see sideways D pics below, in the stripes)

Today I made pancakes for breakfast and the twins had 3 between them, a banana, and some Cheerios.  They ate more than all of the rest of us did! We hopped in the car to take C to swim and played at the park for a bit. We came home for lunch, but J slept through it again.  I put D down after lunch and we all took a nap.  Glorious!  We had a good dinner together, and then the boys played until bedtime.


(8/12) I love Sundays! J slept all night last night and D was only up once.  Dad was actually up ahead of all of us, which is unheard of!  He and C left to go camping tonight (just an overnight) and Nanan stayed the night so she could watch the twins tomorrow until the boys return. 

We had a great day today.  I got a lot done while the little boys napped, and when they were up, I got to play with them and read my book.  Can't beat that!


(8/13) Happy Monday!  Nanan has the boys until the bigguns come home.  Hope everyone has a great day!

Poor Nanan.  When I left (6a) D was chatting away, and she sent a text that she was up with J at 6:45.  I can't say I'm totally surprised because they were both *done* at 6:30p last night, which is far earlier than they usually go to bed.  Here's hoping they nap well!
