January 22nd-28th

(1/22) Whirlwind Tuesday again.  Sounds like everyone had a good day, but man am I tired!  J has started to point to himself and say "Jensen," and it really sounds like he says "Denton" too, when we're looking at the digital frame.  He loves that thing, and points to it after every diaper change and fusses until I turn it on.

(1/23)  I was home with the kiddos today.  It was Kathy's turn to volunteer in the classroom, so Jax came over during the littles' nap time.  He helps me find the puzzle pieces that always seem to scatter throughout the living room during the day.  The boys had a good nap, and then joined us to play a little until C got home. We then had to pile in the car to go in for the twin's 15-month appointment. Here are their stats: D 23lbs (30%); 31" (50%); Head 47.75cm (69%); J 23lbs (30%); 30.75" (49%); Head 48.25cm (79%).  D wasn't very steady on the scale, so we guessed at 23lbs.  He feels heavier than J.  But who knows... My perception has been off before.  They got one shot (Hib), and D complained loudly.  J squawked and then was ready to get down and play with the Duplos.  The Dr. looked at everyone's ears and pronounced us good to go. We had a relaxing rest of the evening.

(1/24)  Today was the boys' day with their dad.  D got his first haircut today!  I am now guilty of mixing up them up, especially when I'm hollering at one to get down from such and such, and I don't even have the right shaved-headed kid.

(1/25) Work day for Dad & me.  Kathy said the twins took a long nap, but they were acting very tired.  She said D didn't even eat his snack.  Who is this child?!  But once we got home, he was making his "mm-mmm-mmm" noise and demanding food.  Ah yes, I know this kid.  Kathy put them in some cute clothes today - D looks like a mini professor.

(1/26) We packed up and left early to go to C's hockey practice so we could exchange his skates.  Someone has had a growth spurt.  He's been complaining that his skates and helmet have been hurting him, so we got his helmet adjusted and grabbed the next size up in skates.  C had a great practice today.  He seems to do really well with the older players helping out.  I packed lunch for the twins and they munched on that while C practiced.  Then they climbed the bleachers and each other.  Someone had dropped Skittles and they were a magnet for J, so I had to watch him closely to make sure I got them cleaned up before he found them.  D started getting super grumpy about mid-way through.  I put them both in the stroller and walked the rink and D quickly fell asleep.  J had the glassy-eyed stare, but managed to make it to the car before falling asleep.  I got them both in car and D woke up while J went down.  I tried to put J down in his crib once we got home, but he woke completely up and took off his shoes & socks and was chatting away up there.  D was busy playing downstairs, so I brought J down to play too and tried napping them again at 3p.  Only D slept, which meant J was a *bear* for the rest of the night.  But he made it til 7:30p... so hopefully he'll sleep in.  (Ha!)

(1/27) Low-key Sunday.  The boys were just waking up when I came back from my run.  I got them up and fed them breakfast and then we bummed around in our jammies until it was hockey time.  Just C & I went to his game today (he did *awesome* in goal!).  The boys were just going down for a nap when we got back, and C and I got in some Lego time.  After the littles woke back up, they played and Dad went shopping.  They got their nah-nah-nah-nah (banana) fix, but it was too late in the day for J and he ended up throwing most of his dinner on the floor. After dinner, it was bath, play and bedtime.

(1/28) Happy Monday!  Boys are with their dad today and C has the day off school.  Hope they have a great day!

January 15th-21st

(1/15) Kathy's kiddos had the flu, so I took today off to chauffeur C around. I've picked up a bit of a cold, so took the opportunity to get a few more Zs while the boys were napping and C was at school.  The boys are boogery today too.  Lovely.

(1/16) I was home with the kids again today.  Nanan came to watch the little bits while I volunteered at C's school in the afternoon.  We had a good day, but I was wiped at the end of it, and bedtime couldn't come soon enough.

(1/17) Dad was home with the kids today.  Granddad came by just before bedtime so Dad and I could go out for a comedy show.  He said the boys were so funny - they headed right over to where we pile the blankets once they got sleepy, and subsequently went down pretty fast.  Good boys!

(1/18) Happy Birthday, Dad!  He was originally scheduled to work, but wasn't feeling well so took the day off and gave himself a five day vacation.  Nice!   I had to work today, but was home for dinner.  D practiced walking tonight and he's getting so confident.  He walked all the way around the island tonight.

J is now doing the "Nose-nose-nose" thing while holding his nose.  It cracks me up to drive them all in the car now.  There's raspberries, and noses, and "DaDADADAdas," plus C trying to talk over them. Maybe Mom needs earplugs...

(1/19) Walking boy in the house!  D is walking all over the place now.  Something clicked and he can do it now.  It's so cute to see the two of them running around here!

C and I went to Nana's (Sarah's mom) this morning for a scrap-booking day.  The littles stayed home with Dad, who took the day off so we could go out for birthday hockey later.  Nanan (my mom) came to watch the herd while we were out.  She asked me why I didn't tell her D was walking all over the place, but it just happened, so I hadn't had a chance.

Seriously, I do feed them!
(1/20)  Relaxing day here.  Nanan stayed over last night so she breakfasted with us and we had a nice morning together.  I got dinner started and then handed the reins off to Dad while I went out for a run.  The boys took a decent nap and were up by the time I got home.  We had a big dinner, then bath and bed.

(1/21) Woot! I have the day off today to hang with the kiddos.  We're all snarfy, so I think another day of rest is just what the doctor ordered.

Fifteen Months

(1/8)  Whirlwind Tuesday.  We both had to work, and the kiddos were with Kathy.  By the time I get them home and fed, it's bedtime.  Sounds like everyone had a good day.

J is a full-time walker now. D is close, but is still hesitant to let go. D has also started plugging his nose and saying "Nose-nose-nose." It's very cute!

(1/9)  Love my Wednesdays with my kids!  We had a chill morning and then headed to take C to school.  I grabbed sushi on the way, for a lunch date with my brother.  I put the babies down for a nap as soon as we got home, Jake arrived and we had a nice lunch.  The babies slept all the way until it was time to go fetch C from school.  We had a great rest of the evening!  C and I played Sorry and tried very hard to keep the babies from grabbing our pieces.  C is getting way too good at that game. I'm going to have to start cheating.

Up on the table in 5...4...3
(1/10) The boys were with their dad today.  I worked and then took a class, so didn't see much of them.  On Thursday nights, I have to stand to eat dinner if I don't want to share. I tried to give them Cheerios, but J fell on floor in a big show of drama.  Clearly, I am the meanest mom ever.

(1/11) Fifteen months today.  Shew.

Work day for Dad & me.  I picked the littles up from Kathy this evening and J immediately went over and pointed behind the TV.  Apparently, a ball got stuck there and he wanted me to get it.  Goofus.

(1/12) Busy Saturday.  Dad watched the kiddos while I took a class before he left for work.  Once I got home, we piled in the freezing van (the side doors froze again last night, so I had to load the kiddos through the front) and headed to C's hockey practice.  I fed the twins lunch while we were there and they were beyond ready for a nap once hockey was over.  After the sandwich was gone, and they had played on the bleachers, they weren't having anything to do with me walking them around the arena.  Sigh.  They treated me to a symphony of raspberries and "Nose-nose-nose" on the way home and crashed within minutes of being put down. C went to play at Jordan's, so I had a quiet house for a while.  Score!

(1/13) The littles were chatting away when I got back home from the gym this morning.  I got them up and fed, and we got to hang out for the morning while C and Dad went to his hockey game.  He scored his very first goal today!!  They went out to lunch to celebrate ~ which was a good thing, because we were starving, and I had lunch on the table at 11a.  I put the boys down for a nap around 11:30a, and we three crashed.  The twins slept until 2:30p, and chased each other around the kitchen for a while until it was time to go to Granddad's for birthday dinner for Dad.  The twins were bottomless pits, and they ate until they both had little Buddha bellies. They even nommed on some cake.  Yum!

D is working on saying "All gone" and says it when I say "Bye-bye."  He also learned "door" today.  The boys were standing at the sliding glass door, so I said what it was, and D kept saying "door," and putting his forehead on it.  Then J came over and would yell "DOOR," and bonk his head on it.  Sheesh.  D also says "Hello" and will hold a long conversation with me... even if I don't know what he's saying.  He's pretty insistent about whatever it is too!

(1/14) Happy Monday again!  Dad has the kiddos today and I am at work.

January 1st-7th

Hockey is hard
(1/1) Happy New Year!  I had the day off and kicked it off with a half marathon.  Nanan watched the boys for me.  I came home to napping kiddos, and then we went over to Granddad's to play games and have dinner.  Jake, Amber, & Audrey all came and it was a fun family-filled day!

(1/2)  Back to life as usual.  Well, kind of.  I worked today, even though it was a Wednesday.  The kiddos were at Kathy's.  Kathy said they had to do a lot of rearranging because J is a little monkey and is into EVERYTHING now that he is walking!

(1/3)  Dad had the kiddos today and ended up with an extra one after school.  I asked him if he was ready for 4 kids now, and he glared at me.  (We are done, but I can tease!)  I came home after class to two *tired* little boys.  J was on the blanket pile and didn't even come over to see me. He fussed and rubbed his eyes. And D parked himself right in my lap.  Silly boys.  Granddad had C this evening, so it was a very quiet night after the little guys went down!

(1/4)  Another busy work day for me today.  Both of us worked, and the boys went over to Kathy's around 11:30. C is having a rough time adjusting to being back at school so it was a rocky day...  He had a play at the Children's Theatre tonight, and Nanan came to get him before I got home.  I had the twins to myself again tonight and after they went down, I zoned out and watched TV until C got home.  It'll be good to have all the boys home to get settled back into a routine, and soon!

Kathy said the twins are now signing "eat"... a lot.  They ask to eat and say "num-num-num" allll the time.  Methinks they're growing.

(1/5) I was feeling lazy today, so in lieu of a run, I stayed home for cinnamon rolls (duh!).  We had a great morning bumming around the house and then packed up mid-morning to go to hockey.  The boys played for about half the time climbing the bleachers and such.  I finally had to corral them back in their stroller because big brother needed more than just a half-eye on him during practice.  D conked out while I walked them around the rink while J just got crabby.  I was surprised that he didn't zonk during the ride home.  He took a nice, long nap once we got home, but I had to bring D back down after a half hour of chatting.  I didn't want him to wake his brother.  The rest of the evening was very low-key and much-needed after a week of rush-rush-rush.

(1/6)  Game day for C!  Dad got the boys up while I was out for a run, and then we piled in the car to head for hockey.  The boys climbed all over the bleachers, and us, and more of us.  With about 15 minutes to go, we took them upstairs to warm up.  They fell asleep on the way home, and we took them straight up for a nap.  They mostly woke up and chatted for about an hour before I gave up and brought them back down.

(1/7)  Happy Monday!  Dad has the kids today and I am back at work.
